In the splendour of the Peruvian Andes, ancestors of today’s Quechua people, the Inkas, established Machu Picchu and other magnificent stone cities during one of history’s greatest civilizations. Theirs was a society of abundance based on values derived through a unique cosmology and spirituality, which interpreted humanity’s place in the universe. Their vision still lives on among the gentle mountain people of the Andes through their innate appreciation of nature and each other.
In eighteen years of operation Magical Journey has had a single objective – to enrich people’s lives through the beauty of the Andes, and an appreciation of the culture and spirituality of the Quechua people and their Ancestors. Within the awesome architecture of ancient sacred sites we learn their legends, enjoy their music and appreciate their art and textiles. Through participation in authentic sacred ceremonies and interaction with ‘ordinary’ modern people in their day-to-day circumstances, we gain a renewed perspective of what it is to be human.
